Noter:
According to Vilhelm Svendsen's "Østerlarsker Slægter" the couple
lived in Sutningen until sometime in the 1750's, when they moved to
Stangegård, 48'
Slg. Østerlars. Uncertain of location of "Sutningen". Seigne
Pedersdatter is recorded as being buried on March 8, 1761 at the age
of 71 years. Hans Michelsen refused to pay out the inheritance after
the death of his wife, but the children were very insistent -
especially Giertrud's husband, Mogens Michelsen, who incidentally was
the brother of Hans Michelsen. So following reprimands from the
authorities, Hans Michelsen agreed to pay out 20 Silverdalers (Sldr.)
to his son, Jens Hansen, and the three daughters
were each given 10 Sldr. According to an old document - dated January
8, 1748 - from the death of a woman named Karen Hansdatter, the right
to Stangegård, after Segne Pedersdatter's death, should go to Segne's
oldest daughter Giertrud Hansdatter. The value of the farm was set at
200 Sldr. The document ends with these lines: "The widower is allowed
to stay on the farm until the middle of 1762 and then his brother,
Mogens Michelsen, will give him 14 Sldr. to move out, and will
thereupon take over the farm because he married the land-owner." Hans
Michelsen, after leaving the farm would go to live with his son Jens
Hansen at Slettegård and stayed there 18 years until his death at the
age of 81 years, in 1780.
