Reference: note
At the time that Sidselle Nielsdatter married Eschel Jensen Dich she
was the widow of Hans Esbersen of Bækkegård, 26. Slg. who died in
1751, no children from that brief first marriage. On June 28, 1749
Hans Esbersen had purchased his future in-law's mortgaged farm:
Bækkegård, 26. Slg. in Østermarie. In the probate after him it was
established that his widow Sidselle Nielsdatter had the right to stay


at the farm for the rest of her life. Probate after her death held on


July 8, 1765, the farm was valued at 600 Silverdalers, and the
youngest surviving son Hans was awarded inheritance rights. Sidselle


was recorded as being 40 years, 3 months, 1 week and 3 days old when
she passed away. According "Den fra Skotland indvandrede slgt Dick",
by K. Thorsen, she was the daughter of Niels Pedersen of Gadebygrd in


stermarie parish.
